Step 2 of 5: Selecting Sensor CHARACTERISTC:
|
Below you will find lots of different versions of Hall Switches. The main difference is their sensitivity, and which pole will trigger
them. There is also a programmable version for special needs, or to make the part to part variation small. Note the sensitivity
is measured in Gauss. When the field at the sensor face exceeds the Operate Point, the output turns on. When the field drops below the
Release Point, the output turns off. To determine the trigger gap of a magnet, look at the magnet's Gauss vs. Gap curve and determine
the gap where it produces enough field to exceed the Hall Switch's operate point.
The HS, HS1 and HS3 versions have different sensitivity, and trigger only from a S pole of a magnet.
The MRS is a Magneto-Resistive Switch that triggers from either pole, and is quite sensitive as the MRS.
The PHS sensor is programmable to trigger from almost any field (but not both poles).
The EHS1 sensor triggers from either pole, and is not quite as sensitive.
The EHS1B sensor is a Micro Power Hall Switch, and will work from a 3V battery.
The EPPHS sensor is also programmable, and triggers from either pole.
We also have other Hall Switches not listed (non-chopper stabilized, N pole sensitive, etc.) Contact us for more info.
