Speed Switch Sensors
Speed switches combine Hall Effect sensors with additional onboard logic to provide a digital switching output that turns on or off when specific speeds are measured.
Speed switch sensors are available with NPN outputs, normally open relay outputs, and normally closed relay outputs. They are built specifically to the requested switch speed in Hz.
These sensors can function as under speed switches, over speed switches, or zero speed sensors at a cost much lower than combining a Hall Effect sensor and a programmed speed switching meter. These sensors are commonly used to detect issues on conveyer systems, exhaust fans, and other applications where if one component stops moving or is moving too quickly to trigger alarms or automatically shut the system down before catastrophic failures occur.
