Speed Sensors for Detecting Ferrous Targets
Target Tracker sensors combine the technology of gear tooth sensors with additional internal logic for measuring the speed of targets that are not gears with evenly spaced teeth. These sensors provide digital pulses as ferrous targets pass the sensor face. Single output and quadrature target tracking sensors are available for tracking the speed of moving ferrous targets.
These speed sensors are also capable of detecting speed from standard gears without requiring a specific orientation of the sensor to the direction of motion.
Example targets for our Ferrous Target Tracking Speed Sensors include:
- Tone rings, tone wheels, and face gears
- Holes in discs, pulleys, and steel plates
- Bolt heads, pins, and other steel protrusions
- Shaft Keyways and notches in shafts
- Steel inserts mounted in non ferrous discs and plates
- Cam shafts and crank shafts
