Single Channel Hall Effect Gear Tooth Sensors
Sensor Solutions Single Channel Gear Tooth Sensors are True Zero Speed Hall Effect sensors. Rated for detecting up to 10,000 gear teeth per second they provide 1 square wave pulse each time a tooth passes the sensor face.
Gear tooth sensors are available with NPN, PNP, and TTL outputs with a variety of electrical and functional features . When connected to a tachometer, PLC, or other meter they can be used to measure speed or a non-directional count.
For detecting non-standard gears (missing or non-evenly spaced teeth) and other similar targets Sensor Solutions recommends our Target Tracker Gear Tooth Sensors.
For more information on selecting sensors, how they function, designing targets, and other topics see our Application Notes and Resources.
