Position Tracking of a Rotating Gear
The rotational position of a gear can be monitored by monitoring the gear with a Quadrature Hall Effect Gear Tooth sensor and a programmed counter or PLC.
- Indexing a position in the rotation.
- Constant monitoring of rotational position.
- Tracking position for engaging other components in a system.
- Counting the number of rotations.
Fully programmed counters are available in our Catalog.
For resolving angular position with the greatest accuracy, Angular position sensors can detect magnets mounted to rotating components and provide an analog position output.
Refer to our Application Notes for more information on tracking position.
