Tracking Rack Gears for Alignment Detection
When adjusting a rack gear changes alignment in an application, a Quadrature Gear Tooth sensor can follow the movement of the gear when connected to a properly programmed counter. As each tooth passes the sensor face it resolves the direction of movement and will count up or down accordingly. The count can be scaled to translate to the amount of linear movement of the system per tooth.
Fully programmed counters are available in our Catalog
For more information about our quadrature gear tooth sensors, why we request the gear pitch, and target gear design, see our Application Notes.
