Rack Gear Position Detection Sensors
The position along a rack gear can be measured by pairing a Quadrature Hall Effect Gear Tooth sensor with a programmed directional counting meter of PLC.
These sensors can be mounted so they are over the center of the target at a 0 count position and then programmed to count positive in one direction and negative in the other. Or the index position could be set to either end of the rack gear or a specific point along the path of travel.
Fully programmed counters can be found in our Catalog
