Speed Sensors for Detecting Gears
Single channel gear sensors provide an output that detects each time a gear tooth passes by the face of the sensor. When connected to a tachometer, they measure the speed of the gear. Quadrature Sensors as well as Speed and Direction Sensors provide two outputs so that you can resolve both the speed of the gear and the direction of rotation.
Our speed measuring gear tooth sensor options include both active Hall Effect digital speed sensors with one or more outputs as well as passive variable reluctance sensors that provide a sine wave output.
